What’s new in Latch.

Release notes for every build.

0.1.2 — 2026-10-13

NEWKeyboard shortcuts stay in the KVM — while a KVM is focused, system shortcuts like ⌘⇧ and ⌘Tab go to the remote machine only and no longer trigger on your Mac. Needs Accessibility permission, which Latch asks for the first time you connect.
IMPROVEDSmoother direct video — the direct H.264 stream starts cleanly on a keyframe, recovers faster from dropped frames, and keeps the old picture on screen until the new one is ready.
IMPROVEDSteadier connections — fewer transport stalls, and recovery after one is bounded instead of hanging.
IMPROVEDLong pastes and typing — large pastes are sent in chunks with progress, can be stopped, and ask before typing very long text.
IMPROVEDNew app icon.
FIXED A bare ⌘ tap is no longer sent to the remote machine, and modifier keys no longer get stuck after the system interrupts keyboard capture.
FIXED One old or unsupported saved entry can no longer wipe your whole list of saved KVMs.

Citrix sessions have been removed. Saved Citrix entries are dropped on launch; your KVMs are untouched.

NEWAutomatic updates — Latch checks for new versions with Sparkle and installs them for you. Latch › Check for Updates… checks right away.

Coming from 0.1.0? Download this version once by hand; updates are automatic after that.

NEWPublic download — Latch 0.1.0 is signed with Developer ID and notarized by Apple. Download.

NEWOpen in New Window — right-click a tab to move that KVM into its own window, on any display.
NEWHidden sessions — a connected KVM can stay connected in the background without taking up a tab’s view.

IMPROVEDDirect video — LAN Max uses a 15-frame GOP, so a dropped frame recovers in a fraction of a second without resetting the device’s encoder.
FIXED Transport stalls that could freeze the picture.
FIXED Recovery after a stall is now bounded; if the H.264 stream stays silent, Latch falls back to JPEG snapshots.

NEWTabs — connect to several KVMs at once. Background tabs stay connected. ⌘⇧] and ⌘⇧[ switch between them. Correction: those two tab-switch shortcuts were never bound; switch by clicking a tab.
NEWSide by side — show up to four sessions in one window; click a pane to focus it.

NEWFirst build — native viewer for GL.iNet Comet / GLKVM with Direct H.264 on the LAN, keyboard and mouse over the device’s HID socket, and a stats HUD.
NEWClipboard — ⌘V types the Mac clipboard on the remote machine; ⌘C copies screen text with the device’s OCR. Correction: ⌘V and ⌘C are sent to the remote machine as real key chords. Typing the Mac clipboard is the toolbar’s Paste to Machine button, and the OCR is the toolbar’s Copy Text button.
NEWVirtual CD — drop an ISO on the window to upload and mount it.
NEWPower — ATX power, long press, reset, and Wake-on-LAN.
NEWAgent server — optional MCP server on 127.0.0.1 with a bearer token, so an agent can see and drive the KVM.
